Sergio Rojas is a Gurang Gurang man from Bundaberg in QLD, however he grew up in the Hunter Valley in a little town just outside of Singleton called Bulga before attending High School and University in Sydney. Sergio graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Diploma in Engineering Practise (BEng (Civil and Environ), Dip Eng Prac).
Sergio comes from a trades background having worked in construction from a young age and with this background he has developed strong people and management skills and techniques through extensive experience which has enabled him to give clear and concise directions to the teams which he manages.
During his career working in the construction industry Sergio has held different positions and had successful outcomes working on the construction of Onshore LNG Facilities, Mining Expansions, Motorways, Tunnels, Bridges and Rail Upgrade Infrastructure projects. He has worked in the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Western Australia, and Queensland in Australia in rural and urban locations.
Sergio has some core essentials which he abides by “Safety above all else” and “Working above the line”.
Sergio became the new Treasurer with the NTIBN in May 2016.
