Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation (MHAC) is a not for profit organisation that provides clinical services, acute and long term care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across East Arnhem Land. MHAC also focuses on education and primary preventive care programs to address risk factors to Aboriginal health in the region.

Primary Objective:

The Board Member will contribute to the effective governance, strategic direction, financial sustainability and accountability of the organisation. This role will provide independent judgement, constructive challenge and specialist expertise in corporate governance and finance, while supporting the organisation’s commitment to Aboriginal community control, culturally safe health services and improved outcomes for Yolŋu.

The role will support strong governance by bringing together professional expertise and Yolŋu knowledge and leadership to enable informed, culturally appropriate and sustainable Board decision-making.
