Co-contribution required – funding not intended to cover whole cost of activity/event.
Funding to support activities held for NAIDOC Week (5 to 12 July 2026)
Funding is available across 3 funding streams:
o Educational Institutions (up to $1500)
o Small-scale grants (up to $10,000)
o Large-scale grants ( $10 000 - $25 000)
Objectives:
· Support the expression, engagement, and re-vitalisation of First Nations cultures,
· Celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of First Nations people,
· Increase First Nations peoples’ participation in the social and economic life of Australia, and
· Promote broader understanding and acceptance of the unique place of First Nations cultures in Australian society.

Events funded by this grant opportunity must not start before 1 July 2026
Must be completed by 31 October 2026
Grant funding preferences for non-indigenous organisations (CoD):
applying on behalf of a First Nations organisation in a consortium arrangement (where the non-Indigenous organisation is the lead organisation); then
that have not previously received NAIDOC funding; then
with a Reconciliation Action Plan.
Activity/event must meet above objectives – i.e. arts based activities (design work, painting, dancing, crafts and storytelling), family fun days, cultural activities, Elders activities, bush tucker/cooking, NAIDOC themed sporting activities/competitions etc.
